Apps For Mac Pro
Hi,
Mac App Store's (MAS's) method of scanning and registering the installed software is clearly flawed in some way: 'Art Text 2' in my 'Applications' folder was recognized from the first launch as installed and up-to-date, as are many others (including all iWork and iLife apps), while several others like 'Mind Node Pro', 'Pixelmator' stubbornly refuse to be recognized: moving the apps in and out of the folder, launching them while MAS was running, logging out and in, restarting the Mac, even (shudder!) shutting the Mac down and then restarting it. Nothing seems to make MAS register a fair amount of software that is (yes, legitimately) installed on my Mac.
Any other ideas?
In turn—just in case MAS programmers are reading this—the following SHOULD exist in MAS, but doesn't:
1. a 'feedback' menu item, for reporting bugs;
2. a 'Mac App Store' entry at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ;
3. when an app is drag-and-dropped on MAS, MAS should 'register' it as installed.
Cheers, Tristan
